The Cape and South Shore Yarn Haul was such an amazing four days! Filled with fun, fiber friends and fabulous prizes. My favorite day was Saturday because I got to spend more time with two of my favorite people - Cheryl from Hypnotic yarn and Jess from Jessgas Crochet. Their trunk show was fabulous and we had fun each day celebrating some yarns that make our shop unique like Hoooked, Sugarbush, Knit Collage and Woolen Boon. Below is a picture of one of our customers, a test knitter for Knit Collage picking out some yarn during our Knit Collage Sale. I’ve listed our new set of Beginners classes online! Learn knitting with Lisa in October or come crochet with me in November. I think one of my most popular classes will be my NEW Ponchos and Wraps class. Some people have just decided to buy them too, which is fine! The Gaelic Poncho is $85 and the Dragon Wing Wrap is $50.

i want to take a minute to thank everyone again for their continued support. Both January and February we have been growing and our classes continue to be full of wonderful people. I am incredibly grateful for your support and look forward to spring/summer and fun new workshops and seasonal yarns. The store is thriving because of you. Staci HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2018 was such a big year where I started out with an exclusive at the Scituate Farmers Market just starting to talk about the possibility of a shop and ending with this amazing space that was born out of the support and faith of my friends and family. It’s so moving to reflect back where I was a year ago, doing fairs and appearances and working out of my house to now. I could not be more grateful for all the love the shop has received from you and my community. And I’m especially grateful for my husband who has been my biggest cheerleader. Did you get to meet my husband over the holiday week? He did a fantastic job filling my shoes! He knows absolutely nothing about yarn or knitting/crochet and managed to help everyone while I was sick with a virus. I actually believe he enjoyed it too. He was bragging for the last week about what a great job he did. I may never live it down. He’s a funny guy and customers enjoyed his sense of humor. We have expanded some of our favorite cascade yarns! New colors in 220 Effects, 220 Aran Splatter, 220 Wave and Heritage Wave! Some of these will be used for our new socks class - spots are still available and start this Friday! I love the blue/red/grey heritage wave which is perfect for Patriots socks! Knit up a pair for the playoffs or a valentines present!
Our new classes are kicking off this weekend and we are all excited to see New students and some familiar faces. So fun to see the yarns people choose for their projects. Stay tuned as we work on the new schedule towards the end of this month for March!! In the meantime, come visit and hang out in the comfy chairs with your project and some tea! And be on the lookout for my Annual January Giveaway on Facebook!! Staci The spirit of Christmas was in the shop last week as we celebrated the holiday early! We had our last social of the season with a yankee yarn swap and easy conversation. I’m always reminded at how kind crafters are and how we are interesting gentle souls. It was wonderful for me to take a break with you and sit and crochet and just be. Sometimes the holidays can be so busy that we forget to breathe. Friday we hosted Mr & Mrs Claus for Christmas in the Village. Over 200 families came to the store to find Skippy and Kara our elves in the great elf scavenger hunt. We set up our classes table with a huge wooden train set that the children could play with and everyone left with a candy cane treat!! This was such a wonderful event to thank the community for their support of Scituate. Make sure you come next year!! The Beginners Knitters are wrapping up their classes before the break! They’ve made wonderful scarves and hats. Michelle Kendell and Lisa Howell have done an outstanding job and all of the students had so much fun. Some have moved on to advanced beginners and some have decided to repeat the beginners class with new projects. So proud of all our new friends!! We has our first felting class with Michelle Levesque of Sugarbeet Accessories. The ladies had a fabulous time making their own snowman ornament and learning the techniques of needle felting. We have another scheduled for Sunday, January 13th. Sign ups are on the website! We are also happy to welcome Cheryl To the Staci’s Stitches teaching team! Cheryl will be teaching Intro to Mittens and Color work lined mittens in a two part class so that intermediates or Advanced Beginners can jump into one or both. She will also be teaching a 4 week sock class which will be perfect to work on this chilly winter! Look for her classes later today and tomorrow!
This Holiday week we will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the Day after Christmas (24, 25, 26) so I can have some much needed quiet time with my family! I will be back in store Friday / Saturday while Kathy will be in the shop Thursday and Sunday. So our last open day this week will be Sunday December 23rd! We hope everyone has a wonderful week filled with laugh, love and the very best tidings. Staci The last two weeks saw some changes at the shop! It’s beginning to look very festive for the holidays! With yarn bowls filled with peppermints, hot cocoa at the tea bar and sugar beet accessories ornaments for sale on the tree!
The week before Thanksgiving I hosted my first social. The NorEaster held off just until we were leaving and 13 brave weatherproof women came, ate treats and talked all things yarn. This was so much fun. Last night we had another group of women. Some fresh faces and some returning friends. We had lots of laughs, discussed projects, researched and shared patterns and the lemon cake by Mary was amazing. Classes are now up on the website and spaces are still left in Beginners Knitting, Advanced Beginners Knitting and Intermediate Crochet. I was completely shocked that my beginners crochet class sold out in 5 hours. I hope I can live up to that level of enthusiasm! New Beginners Crochet will start in March where I will have 2 dates to try to keep up with demand!
We have received lots of new yarns last week. Besides brand new patterns in Hooked, there are New colors in Cascades Magnum and Cherub DK to check out and Sugarbush Dawson Chunky Llama yarn in finally in!
Last but but not least, as we finish our first month of business I want to thank you for your support, encouragement and kindness. I’m so appreciative of your business and you have made this transition for me a Joy!
