Advanced Knitter: Marshland! Eight Week Class

With all the bright spring & summer colors popping up all around, it’s only natural to begin planning for Staci’s Stitches first fair isle class! We will work the Marshland pattern as a cardigan so that we can all steek together.
Classes will start Sunday, August 4 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm, continuing on Aug. 11, 18, and 25, and Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29 (no classes Labor Day weekend).
In this class you will learn or review:
• stranded color work
• top down sweater construction
• working with a chart
• knitting in the round
• getting gauge
• working yarn tails in “live” to avoid weaving in when finishing
• techniques for proper storage while working with multiple yarns
Aren't sure if you're ready? To be successful in this class you should know how to:
• knit in the round
• various increase and decrease methods
• various cast-ons and cast offs
A Few Additional Details
:: Students will need to purchase their own copy of the pattern::
:: Yarn for the sweater will need to be purchased at the shop. A color choosing workshop will be held prior to the class so that we can order the appropriate yarn to arrive in time. All students get a 10% discount on purchases of class materials for the duration of the class. Outside yarn is not allowed for class projects.
:: Students should bring or purchase the necessary needles to get gauge, which may require a different set than when working in plain stockinette.
:: A few additional supplies may come in handy including::
• a magnetic pattern holder
• stitch markers
• crochet hook
• darning needles
